Client Overview

In 2004, with the War on Terror in full swing, the U.S. Army North, also known as the Fifth Army, was given a new mission – to be the dedicated Army Service Component to the U.S. Northern Command. NORTHCOM is the unified command responsible for defending the U.S. homeland and coordinating defense support of civil authorities. Army North achieved full operating capability between September 2005 and October 2006 and assumed responsibility for operational control of Civil Support and the Joint Task Force (North) in October 2008.

The Army North, together with its partners, prepares for unified land operations, conducts security cooperation activities, and protects the force within the U.S. Northern Command and the Department of Defense (DoD) to contribute to the defense and security of the United States and its interests.
